Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manage highly available, scalable, and secure applications and infrastructure on IBM Cloud.
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment and management of cloud resources using tools like GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, and Tekton.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform, Ansible, and other scripting languages.
- Monitor cloud environments for performance, availability, and security, and implement proactive measures to ensure optimal operation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to cloud infrastructure, applications, and networking.
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure cloud solutions meet application requirements and architectural standards.
- Stay current with emerging cloud technologies, industry trends, and best practices, and evaluate their applicability to IBM's cloud strategy.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with security policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards within cloud environments.
Required Skills
- Minimum 4 years of professional experience in cloud engineering or related DevOps roles.
- Proven experience with IBM Cloud services (e.g., VPC, Kubernetes Service, Cloud Object Storage, databases).
- Strong proficiency in containerization technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
- Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Bash, or Go.
- Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, Load Balancing) in a cloud context.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools and practices.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in an agile, team-oriented environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- IBM Cloud certification (e.g., IBM Certified Cloud Architect, IBM Certified Cloud Developer).
- Experience with Red Hat OpenShift platform.
- Familiarity with other cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
- Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack.
- Knowledge of security best practices in cloud environments.
- Experience with GitOps methodologies.
