Key Responsibilities
- Monitor security systems for anomalies and potential threats, utilizing SIEM tools and other security technologies.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of security incidents, identifying root causes, impact, and developing remediation strategies.
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify weaknesses in systems and applications.
- Respond to security incidents swiftly and effectively, following established incident response procedures.
- Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and best practices to enhance the organization's security posture.
- Participate in security audits and provide recommendations for compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, NIST).
- Collaborate with IT and development teams to integrate security into the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and infrastructure design.
- Stay current with the latest cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and technologies.
- Provide security awareness training and guidance to internal stakeholders.
- Generate comprehensive reports on security posture, incidents, and threat intelligence for management and compliance purposes.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (4+ years) as a Cybersecurity Analyst or in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of network protocols, operating systems (Windows, Linux), and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Proficiency with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, IBM QRadar, Microsoft Sentinel).
- Experience with incident response, threat hunting, and digital forensics.
- Knowledge of vulnerability management tools and methodologies.
- Familiarity with various cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
- Scripting skills (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation and analysis.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Industry certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, CISM, CISSP, CySA+, GSEC.
- Experience with IBM security products and services (e.g., IBM Security Verify, IBM Security MaaS360, Resilient).
- Experience working in a regulated industry (e.g., finance, healthcare).
- Knowledge of secure coding practices and application security testing.
- Experience with Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR) platforms.
