Key Responsibilities
- Accurately process prescription orders, including data entry, insurance verification, and prescription preparation under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Provide friendly, professional, and efficient customer service, addressing patient inquiries and resolving issues promptly and courteously.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, receiving, stocking, and rotating medications to ensure availability and minimize waste.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant pharmacy workspace, adhering to all state and federal regulations, as well as company policies.
- Assist patients with prescription pick-up, over-the-counter medication selection, and answer basic health-related questions.
- Operate pharmacy systems and equipment, including point-of-sale (POS) registers, prescription filling machines, and various software applications.
- Communicate effectively with pharmacists, other healthcare professionals, and patients to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance knowledge and skills in pharmacy operations and patient care.
- Safeguard patient privacy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED
- Active Pharmacy Technician certification (e.g., PTCB or NHA) or eligibility to obtain certification within a specified timeframe as required by state law
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment
- Basic computer proficiency and experience with POS systems
- Strong organizational and time management skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a retail or hospital setting
- Familiarity with pharmacy management software (e.g., RxConnect)
- Knowledge of medical terminology and pharmaceutical calculations
- Bilingual proficiency (English and Spanish or other relevant languages)
