Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Specialist to join our dedicated team in Aggieville, Manhattan. In this critical role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the highest quality, reliability, and performance of Zoom’s cutting-edge video conferencing and collaboration platform. As a QA Specialist, you will work closely with development, product management, and customer support teams to identify, reproduce, and resolve defects, ultimately enhancing the user experience for millions worldwide. Your expertise will cover a broad spectrum of testing activities, including functional, regression, performance, and usability testing across various devices and operating systems. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for new features, enhancements, and bug fixes related to Zoom’s core platform and ancillary products.
- Perform various types of testing, including functional, regression, integration, performance, and user acceptance testing on web, desktop, and mobile applications.
- Identify, document, prioritize, and track bugs and issues using defect tracking systems, collaborating with development teams for resolution.
- Participate in the entire software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and design review to deployment and post-release validation.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Work closely with product managers and engineers to understand product requirements and ensure test coverage aligns with business objectives.
- Provide clear and concise status updates, reports, and metrics on testing progress and defect trends.
- Proactively identify potential risks and communicate them to relevant stakeholders.
- Automate test cases where appropriate to improve testing efficiency and reliability.
- Ensure compliance with company quality standards and industry best practices.
Required Skills
- 3+ years of experience in Quality Assurance or Software Testing, preferably with communication or video conferencing software.
- Solid understanding of QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Experience with test plan and test case creation, execution, and defect management.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
- Proficiency with bug tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Bugzilla).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Experience testing across multiple platforms (Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, Web).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with test automation frameworks and scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Selenium).
- Understanding of network protocols and real-time communication technologies (e.g., WebRTC).
- ISTQB certification.
- Experience with performance and load testing tools.
