Job Description
As a Product Designer at Zoom, you will be instrumental in shaping the user experience of our industry-leading communication platform, specifically focusing on our innovative AI Companion features. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a product that impacts millions globally, directly influencing how users interact with AI-powered tools to enhance productivity, collaboration, and connectivity. You will be responsible for the end-to-end design process, from initial research and ideation to prototyping, user testing, and final implementation. Working closely with product managers, engineers, and other design team members, you will translate complex problems into intuitive, elegant, and user-friendly solutions.
Your day-to-day will involve conducting user research to understand pain points and opportunities, creating wireframes and high-fidelity mockups, and building interactive prototypes to test concepts with real users. You will champion user-centered design principles, advocate for the user throughout the development lifecycle, and iterate designs based on feedback and analytics. A strong understanding of design systems and the ability to contribute to their evolution will be critical. You’ll participate in design critiques, present your work effectively, and articulate your design decisions with clarity and conviction. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the full design lifecycle from research to high-fidelity mockups and prototypes for Zoom's AI Companion features.
- Conduct user research, usability testing, and gather feedback to inform design decisions and uncover user needs.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and other designers to define product requirements and features.
- Translate complex user problems and business requirements into intuitive, elegant, and visually appealing design solutions.
- Develop and maintain design specifications, style guides, and design systems to ensure consistency across products.
- Present design concepts and articulate design rationale effectively to cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Iterate designs based on user feedback, data analytics, and technical constraints.
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in UX/UI and AI design.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of experience in product design (UX/UI) for complex web and mobile applications.
- Proficiency with design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar.
- Strong portfolio showcasing a breadth of work, including user research, wireframing, prototyping, and visual design.
- Demonstrated experience designing for AI-powered features or complex data-driven products.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, agile, and collaborative environment.
- Deep understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Design, or a related field.
- Experience with design systems and contributing to their evolution.
- Familiarity with front-end development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to understand technical constraints.
