Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain high-performance audio processing algorithms and systems for various Spotify applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, design, and other engineering teams, to integrate audio features and ensure seamless user experiences.
- Optimize audio encoding, decoding, and streaming technologies to deliver superior sound quality and efficient data transfer.
- Conduct thorough testing and analysis of audio performance, identifying and resolving issues related to latency, quality, and compatibility.
- Research and evaluate new audio technologies, tools, and industry trends to keep Spotify at the forefront of audio innovation.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance on audio best practices to content creators and internal stakeholders.
- Document technical specifications, design choices, and operational procedures for audio systems.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in C++ and Python for audio application development.
- Strong understanding of digital signal processing (DSP) fundamentals and audio codecs.
- Experience with audio production software and tools (e.g., DAWs, audio editors).
- Familiarity with cross-platform audio development for desktop, web, and mobile environments.
- Knowledge of acoustics, psychoacoustics, and audio measurement techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Audio Engineering, or a related technical field.
