Uber is seeking an HR Coordinator to join our dynamic People Operations team in Downtown Waterloo. In this vital role, you will be instrumental in supporting our Canadian workforce, ensuring a seamless and positive employee experience from onboarding to offboarding. You will act as a crucial point of contact for employees, assisting with HR-related queries, maintaining accurate records, and contributing to various HR initiatives. Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact for employee HR inquiries, providing accurate and timely information or escalating issues as necessary.
- Assist with the end-to-end onboarding process, including preparing new hire paperwork, coordinating orientation sessions, and ensuring a smooth transition for new team members.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in our HRIS (Human Resources Information System), ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
- Support HR Business Partners with various HR projects and initiatives, such as performance management cycles, employee engagement programs, and policy updates.
- Coordinate HR-related meetings, training sessions, and company events, managing logistics and communications.
- Process HR administrative tasks, including employment verification letters, changes in employment status, and benefits-related documentation.
- Assist with offboarding procedures, ensuring all necessary steps are completed and information is accurately recorded.
- Contribute to fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture in line with Uber's values.
Required Skills
- Minimum 1.5 years of experience in an HR administrative or coordinator role, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional organizational skills with a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with all levels of staff.
- Proficiency in HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and integrity.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to task management.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively in a dynamic work environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience with Workday HRIS.
- Pursuing or holding a relevant HR certification (e.g., CHRP/CHRL in progress).
- Prior experience working in the technology or transportation industry.
- Familiarity with Canadian employment laws and regulations.
