Key Responsibilities
- Collect, clean, and analyze complex datasets from various sources, ensuring data accuracy and integrity for robust reporting.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive dashboards, reports, and data visualizations to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and present findings to stakeholders effectively.
- Perform ad-hoc analysis to answer specific business questions, providing timely and precise insights that drive immediate action.
- Identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in data to uncover opportunities for improvement, optimization, and strategic growth across Virgin's diverse portfolio.
- Collaborate proactively with business units and cross-functional teams to understand their data needs and translate them into clear, actionable analytical requirements.
- Design and execute A/B tests and other experimental designs to rigorously measure the impact and effectiveness of new initiatives and product launches.
- Provide clear, concise, and compelling recommendations based on data insights to inform and influence strategic business decisions at all levels.
- Continuously seek to improve data analysis processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Stay updated with industry best practices, emerging technologies, and data governance standards in the field of data analytics.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in SQL for advanced data extraction, manipulation, and database querying.
- Strong experience with leading data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker to create impactful reports and dashboards.
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, conditional formatting, and complex formulas for detailed data analysis.
- Proven ability to perform statistical analysis and interpret results to derive meaningful business conclusions.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, capable of explaining complex data insights to both technical and non-technical audiences clearly and concisely.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic, and ever-evolving environment.
- Demonstrated experience with data cleaning, transformation, and validation processes to ensure data quality.
- Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and data modeling principles.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Business Analytics, or a closely related quantitative field.
- Experience with scripting languages like Python or R for advanced data analysis, automation, and machine learning applications.
- Familiarity with cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery, Azure Synapse, Snowflake) and ETL processes.
- Prior experience in the travel, entertainment, media, or financial services industries.
- Knowledge of experimental design and A/B testing methodologies from a practical application perspective.
- Master's degree in a quantitative field or an MBA with a focus on data analytics.
