Are you a passionate and ambitious individual with a keen interest in technology and product development? Safaricom PLC is seeking an enthusiastic Entry Level Product Manager to join our innovative team in Nairobi. As an Entry Level Product Manager, you will work closely with senior product managers and cross-functional teams, gaining hands-on experience in the entire product lifecycle – from ideation and research to development, launch, and post-launch analysis. You will contribute to understanding customer needs, analyzing market trends, defining product requirements, and collaborating with engineering, marketing, and sales teams to bring compelling products and features to life. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in conducting market research, competitive analysis, and customer feedback analysis to identify opportunities and inform product strategy.
- Support senior Product Managers in defining product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria for new features and products.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, UX/UI, and data analytics teams throughout the product development lifecycle to ensure timely delivery.
- Participate in product testing, quality assurance, and user acceptance testing processes to ensure high-quality releases.
- Help prepare and maintain product roadmaps, release plans, and comprehensive product documentation.
- Monitor product performance post-launch, gather user feedback, and contribute to iteration plans based on data and insights.
- Assist in the creation of go-to-market strategies and support product launch activities, including internal and external communications.
- Contribute to understanding and articulating customer pain points and needs to inform product innovation.
- Facilitate communication and alignment between various internal and external stakeholders.
- Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor activities.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Marketing, or a related field.
- Demonstrated passion for technology, innovation, and product development.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to interpret data.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and in a fast-paced, collaborative team-oriented environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Proactive attitude, intellectual curiosity, and a strong desire to learn and grow within the product management domain.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior internship experience in product management, project management, business analysis, or a related tech role.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and software development lifecycles.
- Basic understanding of UX/UI principles and design thinking.
- Experience with data analysis tools or techniques (e.g., SQL, Google Analytics, Tableau).
- Knowledge of the telecommunications, mobile money, or digital services industry in Kenya or emerging markets.
