Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently sort letters, parcels, and packages according to established procedures and postal codes.
- Operate and monitor automated sorting equipment, performing basic troubleshooting as needed.
- Load and unload mail containers, sacks, and trays, ensuring proper handling and storage.
- Lift and move items weighing up to 50 lbs (22.7 kg) on a regular basis, potentially more with assistance.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and operational guidelines to maintain a secure working environment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, contributing to overall operational efficiency.
- Verify addresses and postal codes for accuracy, identifying and rectifying errors.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure daily processing targets and deadlines are met.
- Adapt to varying mail volumes and priorities, demonstrating flexibility in tasks.
Required Skills
- Ability to read and comprehend English (or French where applicable) for address and instruction interpretation.
- Physical capability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and push/pull for extended periods.
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for handling various mail items.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
- Basic problem-solving skills and ability to follow instructions.
- Legally entitled to work in Canada.
