Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the HR department, including scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and preparing HR-related documents.
  • Assist with the onboarding process for new hires, including preparing new hire paperwork, coordinating orientation sessions, and ensuring a smooth transition.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in the HR information system (HRIS) and personnel files, ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies, benefits, and procedures, escalating complex issues to the appropriate HR team member.
  • Coordinate various HR programs and events, such as training sessions, employee engagement activities, and performance review cycles.
  • Support recruitment efforts by assisting with job postings, scheduling interviews, and communicating with candidates.
  • Assist with the preparation of HR reports and presentations, gathering data and performing basic analysis as required.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the HR department, identifying opportunities to enhance processes and employee experience.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as an HR Assistant, HR Coordinator, or in a similar administrative role.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities with a keen eye for detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Familiarity with HRIS software and applicant tracking systems (ATS).
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to tasks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced technology or e-commerce environment.
  • Knowledge of local employment laws and HR best practices in Illinois.
  • Certification in Human Resources (e.g., SHRM-CP, aPHR) is a plus.
