In this critical role, you will be on the front lines, ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of our essential pipeline infrastructure. As a Field Operator, you will be responsible for the routine inspection, operation, and maintenance of pipeline facilities, including pump stations, compressor stations, terminals, and storage facilities. Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine patrols, inspections, and preventative maintenance on pipeline facilities and associated equipment (pumps, valves, meters, control systems).
- Monitor pipeline operating parameters (pressure, flow, temperature) using SCADA systems and local instrumentation.
- Conduct minor repairs and troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical components.
- Operate and maintain pumping and compression equipment, including starting, stopping, and optimizing performance.
- Accurately complete and maintain operational logs, reports, and compliance documentation.
- Respond promptly and effectively to alarms, operational upsets, and emergency situations in accordance with established procedures.
- Participate in safety meetings, hazard assessments, and adhere strictly to all safety policies and environmental regulations.
- Perform pipeline locates and supervise third-party work near Enbridge assets.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements (e.g., DOT, PHMSA).
- Collaborate with control center personnel, maintenance teams, and other departments to ensure seamless operations.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in industrial operations, maintenance, or a related field (e.g., oil & gas, manufacturing, utilities).
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to perform basic troubleshooting and repairs.
- Valid Class E or C Driver’s License and a clean driving record.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and P&IDs.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (Microsoft Office Suite).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a demanding environment.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and perform tasks outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Commitment to safety and environmental stewardship.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree or technical certification in a relevant field (e.g., Process Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering Technology).
- Previous experience with pipeline operations, natural gas compression, or liquid pumping systems.
- Knowledge of SCADA systems and process control.
- HAZWOPER certification.
- Familiarity with DOT and PHMSA regulations.
