Job Description

CARE International in Egypt is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Assistant to join our dynamic team in Cairo. As an M&E Assistant, you will play a crucial supporting role in ensuring the effectiveness and impact of our programs across Egypt. You will assist in collecting, organizing, and analyzing program data, contributing directly to evidence-based decision-making and accountability. You will work closely with M&E Officers and program teams, gaining invaluable experience in data management, reporting, and program learning. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the collection and aggregation of program data from various sources, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Support the M&E team in maintaining and updating program databases and information management systems.
  • Contribute to the preparation of M&E reports, summaries, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Help organize and facilitate data collection activities, including surveys, focus group discussions, and interviews.
  • Verify data quality and consistency, identifying and flagging any discrepancies or errors.
  • Provide administrative support to the M&E unit, including scheduling meetings, managing documentation, and filing.
  • Participate in training and capacity-building activities related to M&E for program staff as required.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Excellent command of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel for data management and analysis.
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and under tight deadlines.
  • Basic understanding of monitoring and evaluation concepts and methodologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Arabic.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior volunteer experience or internship with an NGO or in a related field.
  • Familiarity with data collection tools such as KoBoToolbox, SurveyCTO, or ODK.
  • Experience in data entry and basic data analysis.
  • Knowledge of humanitarian principles and development programming.
