Job Description

As an HR Coordinator at Canadian Tire, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the human resources function within our Downtown Burley office. This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented and proactive professional to contribute to a thriving workplace environment. You will be the first point of contact for many employee inquiries, providing crucial administrative support to the HR team across various HR disciplines, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, and HR reporting. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to the HR team, including scheduling meetings, managing correspondence, and maintaining organized HR files (both physical and digital).
  • Assist with the full-cycle recruitment process, including posting job openings, screening resumes, coordinating interviews, and conducting reference checks.
  • Facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, preparing new employee paperwork, coordinating orientation sessions, and ensuring a smooth transition into the company.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies, procedures, and benefits, escalating complex issues to appropriate HR specialists when necessary.
  • Maintain HR information systems (HRIS) with accurate and up-to-date employee data, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
  • Support HR projects and initiatives, such as performance management cycles, employee engagement programs, and training and development activities.
  • Prepare various HR reports and presentations as requested, assisting with data analysis and interpretation to support HR decision-making.
  • Assist in the coordination of employee relations activities, ensuring fair and consistent application of company policies.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in an HR administrative or coordinator role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong understanding of HR principles, practices, and employment legislation in Canada.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a professional and empathetic approach.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
  • High level of discretion and ability to handle confidential information with integrity.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CHRP/CHRL designation or working towards certification.
  • Experience with HRIS software (e.g., Workday, SAP SuccessFactors).
  • Experience working in a large, multi-faceted organization or retail environment.
