Key Responsibilities

  • Greet customers warmly and assist them with product location, inquiries, and general store information.
  • Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently using point-of-sale (POS) systems, including cash, debit, and credit card payments.
  • Handle customer complaints, returns, and exchanges with patience, empathy, and professionalism, striving for satisfactory resolutions.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming checkout area and assist with general store cleanliness as needed.
  • Promote store loyalty programs, special offers, and services to customers.
  • Assist with inventory management tasks such as stocking shelves, facing products, and ensuring proper pricing when required.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and other departments to ensure smooth store operations and a cohesive customer experience.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including those related to cash handling, food safety, and customer service standards.
  • Provide support to other areas of the store as needed during peak times or staff shortages.

Required Skills

  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to handle cash and operate a POS system with accuracy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a retail, grocery, or customer service role.
  • Knowledge of common grocery products and store layouts.
  • Ability to speak French is an asset (due to location in Ontario, Canada).
