Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, bake, and finish a diverse range of bakery products including bread, rolls, pastries, cakes, and other specialty items.
- Follow precise recipes and production schedules to ensure consistency and meet customer demand.
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, and safety within the bakery area.
- Operate and clean bakery equipment safely and efficiently.
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and raw materials, reporting shortages as needed.
- Ensure proper storage and rotation of products to minimise waste and maintain freshness.
- Assist with merchandising and display of baked goods, ensuring attractive and well-stocked shelves.
- Provide excellent customer service, including answering questions and assisting with product selections.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including health and safety regulations.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a baker in a retail, commercial, or similar setting.
- Strong understanding of baking principles, techniques, and food safety standards (HACCP or similar).
- Ability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required by a retail environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and precision in following recipes.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift heavy bags of ingredients, and work in varied temperatures.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
