As a Teller, you will be the face of Westpac, assisting our valued customers with their daily financial transactions, resolving inquiries, and identifying opportunities to introduce them to products and services that can help them achieve their financial goals. Key Responsibilities
- Process a high volume of customer transactions accurately and efficiently, including deposits, withdrawals, payments, and transfers.
 - Handle cash, cheques, and other financial instruments with precision and adhere to all security protocols.
 - Identify customer needs and proactively cross-sell appropriate bank products and services, such as new accounts, loans, and credit cards.
 - Resolve customer inquiries and issues promptly and professionally, escalating complex situations when necessary.
 - Maintain up-to-date knowledge of bank products, services, policies, and procedures.
 - Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal banking policies.
 - Assist customers with self-service banking options and digital platforms.
 - Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with customers to foster loyalty and trust.
 - Collaborate with branch colleagues to achieve team goals and enhance overall branch performance.
 - Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance skills and career progression.
 
Required Skills
- Minimum of 6 months experience in a customer service role, preferably in a cash-handling environment.
 - Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
 - Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail.
 - Proficiency in basic computer applications and ability to learn new software quickly.
 - Demonstrated ability to work accurately and efficiently under pressure.
 - High school diploma or equivalent.
 
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a bank teller or in the financial services industry.
 - Associate’s degree or higher in Business, Finance, or related field.
 - Proven sales or cross-selling experience.
 - Ability to speak multiple languages relevant to the local community.
