Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety and comfort of all passengers throughout the flight, adhering strictly to Qantas and aviation safety regulations.
- Deliver exceptional in-flight service, including meal and beverage service, and attending to passenger requests with a proactive and friendly approach.
- Conduct pre-flight safety checks of cabin equipment and ensure the cabin is prepared for departure.
- Demonstrate proficiency in emergency procedures, including first aid, evacuation protocols, and handling disruptive passengers.
- Assist passengers with boarding, disembarking, and stowing luggage.
- Collaborate effectively with the flight deck crew and other cabin crew members to maintain seamless operations.
- Complete all necessary paperwork and reports accurately and promptly.
- Maintain a professional appearance and uphold Qantas's brand standards at all times.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 18 months experience in a customer service-oriented role (e.g., hospitality, retail, healthcare)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong ability to build rapport with diverse individuals
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and under pressure
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm and decisive during emergencies
- Fluency in English (written and spoken)
- Ability to meet strict physical and medical requirements for cabin crew duties
- Valid passport and the ability to travel internationally
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in a second language (beyond English)
- Previous experience in the aviation or travel industry
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
- Experience working with diverse cultures and international clientele
