Key Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery and equipment safely and efficiently, including but not limited to excavators, loaders, dozers, and haul trucks.
- Conduct pre-start checks, routine inspections, and minor maintenance on equipment to ensure operational readiness and safety.
- Monitor operational parameters, identify potential issues, and report defects or malfunctions promptly to supervisors.
- Adhere strictly to all safety procedures, company policies, and environmental regulations at all times.
- Participate in daily safety briefings and contribute to a culture of continuous safety improvement.
- Assist with material handling, processing, and transportation as required to meet production targets.
- Maintain clear and effective communication with team members, supervisors, and other departments.
- Complete accurate operational logs, reports, and documentation.
- Support site cleanup and general housekeeping activities to maintain a safe and organized work environment.
- Respond effectively to emergencies and implement appropriate procedures as trained.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of proven experience as a Field Operator or similar heavy equipment operation role.
- Demonstrated ability to operate heavy machinery (e.g., excavators, loaders, dozers) safely and proficiently.
- Strong understanding of workplace safety regulations and practices, particularly in industrial or mining environments.
- Mechanical aptitude for conducting basic equipment inspections and troubleshooting.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and follow instructions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical fitness and ability to work in varying weather conditions and demanding environments.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant trade certification or vocational training in heavy equipment operation.
- Experience with GPS and other advanced operational technologies.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Knowledge of mining specific safety protocols (e.g., MSHA regulations if applicable).
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
