We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Engineer to join our dynamic team in City Springs, Sandy Springs, with an immediate start. As a Project Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the planning, execution, and successful delivery of various engineering projects, ensuring they meet scope, budget, schedule, and quality targets, all while adhering to BHP’s stringent safety and environmental standards. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate engineering project activities from conception through to completion, ensuring adherence to project specifications, timelines, and budgets.
- Develop and review project scopes, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and develop mitigation strategies for potential project issues.
- Oversee contractors and vendors, ensuring compliance with contractual agreements, safety regulations, and quality standards.
- Prepare and present technical reports, project updates, and recommendations to management and project teams.
- Implement and maintain robust safety protocols and environmental standards across all project phases.
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among project team members, internal departments, and external partners.
- Participate in design reviews, commissioning, and handover processes.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in project delivery and operational efficiency.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or related field).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in project engineering, preferably within the mining, heavy industry, or oil & gas sectors.
- Proven experience in managing complex engineering projects with an immediate start capability.
- Strong understanding of project management principles, including PMP or PRINCE2 certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety leadership and environmental stewardship.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Engineering or Project Management.
- Experience with capital projects ranging from $5M to $50M+.
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations.
- Experience working in a global or multicultural project environment.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques.
- Previous experience with digital transformation or automation projects.
