Job Description
We are urgently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Telecommunications Engineer to join our growing team in Woodstock, Georgia. This pivotal role involves the design, implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of advanced telecommunications infrastructure, ensuring robust and reliable service delivery for our clientele. Key Responsibilities
- Design, install, configure, and maintain telecommunications network equipment and systems, including routers, switches, fiber optic cables, and wireless access points.
 - Perform diagnostic tests and troubleshoot complex network issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions in a timely manner.
 - Conduct site surveys for new installations, upgrades, and modifications, ensuring optimal network performance and coverage.
 - Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for network configurations, system diagrams, and operational procedures.
 - Collaborate with project managers, technicians, and other engineering teams to ensure seamless project execution and service delivery.
 - Monitor network performance, analyze data, and implement proactive measures to prevent outages and optimize network efficiency.
 - Ensure all work adheres to industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies, including BT Group's specific operational guidelines.
 - Participate in an on-call rotation for emergency support and critical incident response.
 - Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and field technicians.
 
Required Skills
- Proficiency in IP networking protocols (TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, MPLS)
 - Strong experience with fiber optic network deployment, splicing, and testing.
 - Hands-on experience with routing and switching equipment from major vendors (e.g., Cisco, Juniper).
 - Familiarity with wireless technologies (Wi-Fi, LTE) and associated infrastructure.
 - Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
 - Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
 - Strong verbal and written communication skills.
 - Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various work sites as needed.
 
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
 - Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIS, or equivalent.
 - Experience with voice over IP (VoIP) systems and unified communications.
 - Knowledge of cloud networking concepts and virtualized network functions (NFV).
 - Prior experience working in an urgent hiring or rapid deployment environment.
 - Familiarity with BT Group's network architecture and service offerings.
