Key Responsibilities
- Perform installations, activations, and maintenance of telecommunications equipment, including broadband, fiber optic, and data services at client premises.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues related to network connectivity, hardware, and software in a timely and efficient manner.
- Conduct site surveys and assessments to determine optimal equipment placement and cabling routes.
- Ensure all installations and repairs comply with safety standards, company guidelines, and industry best practices.
- Educate clients on the proper use of installed equipment and services, providing clear and concise instructions.
- Document all service activities, installations, and troubleshooting steps accurately in designated systems.
- Manage and maintain company-issued tools, equipment, and vehicle inventory.
- Provide exceptional customer service, maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor at all times.
- Participate in on-call rotations and be available for emergency service calls outside of regular business hours as needed.
- Collaborate with internal support teams to escalate and resolve complex technical issues.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Field Technician in telecommunications or a related industry.
- Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP), fiber optics, and broadband technologies.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting connectivity issues, including modem, router, and Wi-Fi configurations.
- Familiarity with various cabling types (CAT5/6, coaxial, fiber) and installation techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Physical ability to lift heavy equipment, climb ladders, and work in various weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree or technical certification in Electronics, Telecommunications, or a related field.
