We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Design Engineer to join our dynamic team in Largo, Florida. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed 3D CAD models and 2D engineering drawings for complex mechanical components and assemblies, adhering to Rolls-Royce design standards and specifications.
  • Perform engineering analysis, including stress, thermal, and vibration analysis (FEA), to validate design integrity and performance.
  • Collaborate closely with R&D, manufacturing, supply chain, and quality teams to ensure designs are robust, manufacturable, cost-effective, and meet performance requirements.
  • Support the full product lifecycle, from concept generation and preliminary design to detailed design, testing, and production support.
  • Conduct design reviews, present technical data, and provide reasoned justifications for design decisions to internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Investigate and resolve design-related issues, implement corrective actions, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry regulations, safety standards, and environmental requirements.
  • Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including design reports, calculations, and specification sheets.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in mechanical design engineering, preferably within aerospace, automotive, or heavy machinery industries.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., Siemens NX, CATIA V5/V6, SolidWorks) and PDM/PLM systems.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, including statics, dynamics, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics.
  • Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and tolerance stack-up analysis.
  • Familiarity with various manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, casting, additive manufacturing) and material properties (e.g., superalloys, composites).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
  • Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software (e.g., ANSYS, ABAQUS) for structural and thermal analysis.
  • Knowledge of propulsion systems, turbomachinery, or gas turbine component design.
  • Experience in product data management (PDM) and product lifecycle management (PLM) tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent certification.
