Job Description

Bidco Africa is seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Sales and Marketing Representative to join our dynamic team for an immediate start. As a Sales and Marketing Representative, you will be at the forefront of our market efforts, responsible for driving sales growth, building strong customer relationships, and effectively promoting our extensive portfolio of household consumer products.

Your day-to-day will involve identifying new business opportunities, nurturing existing client accounts, and implementing strategic marketing initiatives designed to increase brand awareness and product uptake. You will work closely with the sales and marketing management team to develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies, conduct market research to identify trends and competitor activities, and provide crucial feedback to inform product development and market positioning. This role requires an individual who is not only a persuasive communicator and negotiator but also someone who can understand customer needs, present tailored solutions, and close deals efficiently. Key Responsibilities

  • Execute sales strategies to achieve and exceed sales targets and market share objectives.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including prospecting and acquiring new retail and distribution channels.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships through regular visits and proactive engagement.
  • Present, promote, and sell products using solid arguments to existing and prospective customers.
  • Conduct market research to identify customer needs, market trends, and competitor activities, providing actionable insights.
  • Coordinate with the marketing department to implement promotional campaigns and merchandising initiatives.
  • Prepare daily/weekly sales reports, analyze sales data, and provide forecasts to management.
  • Ensure accurate and timely order placement, delivery, and collection of payments.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Sales Representative or in a similar sales/marketing role, preferably within the FMCG sector.
  • Excellent selling, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Highly motivated and target-driven with a proven track record in sales.
  • Ability to build rapport with clients and articulate product benefits effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Valid driving license and ability to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Demonstrable experience working with CRM software.
  • Prior experience in managing a sales territory or portfolio of accounts.
  • Familiarity with the Kenyan FMCG market landscape.
