Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough financial analysis of corporate and commercial clients, including reviewing financial statements, cash flow projections, and business plans.
- Prepare comprehensive credit memoranda and present findings and recommendations to credit committees.
- Assess and quantify credit risks, identifying potential mitigants and structuring appropriate lending solutions.
- Monitor existing credit portfolios for changes in risk profile, compliance with covenants, and market trends.
- Ensure all credit activities adhere to HSBC's internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with Relationship Managers, Legal, and other internal stakeholders to facilitate efficient credit approval processes.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, economic conditions, and regulatory changes impacting credit risk.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external parties.
- Contribute to process improvements and special projects within the credit department.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
- 2+ years of experience in credit analysis within a banking or financial services environment
- Strong understanding of financial statements, accounting principles, and financial modeling techniques
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
