Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify and cultivate new mortgage lending opportunities within the Hialeah market.
  • Conduct comprehensive financial needs assessments with clients to recommend appropriate mortgage products and solutions.
  • Guide clients through the entire mortgage application process, from initial inquiry to closing, ensuring a smooth and transparent experience.
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of Scotiabank’s mortgage products, services, and current market conditions.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with real estate agents, brokers, and other referral sources.
  • Achieve and exceed defined sales targets for mortgage origination and related financial products.
  • Ensure all mortgage activities comply with federal, state, and local regulations and Scotiabank's internal policies.
  • Actively participate in community events and business development initiatives to enhance Scotiabank's presence.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, addressing client inquiries and resolving issues efficiently and effectively.
  • Prepare and present mortgage proposals and disclosures accurately and clearly to clients.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in mortgage origination or a similar financial sales role.
  • Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong understanding of mortgage products, underwriting guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a results-driven environment.
  • Exceptional customer service and relationship-building abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and mortgage origination software.
  • Valid NMLS license (or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (highly advantageous in the Hialeah market).
  • Established network of contacts within the Hialeah real estate and financial communities.
  • Experience with CRM systems and financial planning tools.
