As a Credit Analyst, you will delve deep into financial statements, market conditions, and industry trends to evaluate creditworthiness and identify potential risks. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough financial analysis of existing and prospective clients, including reviewing financial statements, cash flow projections, and business plans.
 - Prepare comprehensive credit proposals and recommendations, outlining risk assessments, mitigants, and appropriate credit structures.
 - Monitor credit portfolios for compliance with terms, conditions, and early warning signals of deteriorating credit quality.
 - Collaborate with Relationship Managers to understand client needs and structure appropriate credit solutions.
 - Ensure adherence to Scotiabank’s credit policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
 - Participate in client meetings and due diligence visits as required, particularly for larger or more complex transactions.
 - Stay abreast of industry trends, economic conditions, and regulatory changes affecting credit risk management.
 
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
 - Minimum of 2 years of experience in credit analysis, risk management, or corporate banking.
 - Strong understanding of financial statement analysis, accounting principles, and financial modeling.
 - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis software.
 - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
 - Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
 - Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
 
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or professional designation (e.g., CFA, CPA).
 - Experience with commercial real estate lending or specialized industry sectors.
