As a Financial Advisor, you will act as a trusted expert, providing comprehensive financial planning advice across a spectrum of areas including investments (mutual funds, GICs, segregated funds), retirement planning (RRSPs, TFSAs, RRIFs), education savings (RESPs), insurance (life, critical illness, disability), and estate planning. You will proactively engage with clients to understand their current financial situations, identify their unique needs and goals, and then develop tailored, holistic financial plans that are aligned with their risk tolerance and objectives.
Your role will involve educating clients on various financial products and services, explaining complex concepts in an easy-to-understand manner, and ensuring they make informed decisions. You will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, actively prospecting and acquiring new clients, and consistently delivering exceptional service that exceeds expectations. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with clients to understand their financial needs and goals.
- Conduct thorough financial needs assessments and risk tolerance analyses for individual and family clients.
- Design, implement, and monitor comprehensive financial plans including investment, retirement, education, and insurance strategies.
- Provide expert advice on Scotiabank's range of financial products and services, ensuring suitability for client objectives.
- Proactively identify and pursue new business development opportunities to grow client base and assets under management.
- Achieve and exceed sales targets and business objectives while maintaining high standards of client satisfaction.
- Stay current with financial market trends, economic conditions, and regulatory changes.
- Ensure all client interactions and transactions adhere to compliance standards and ethical guidelines.
- Collaborate with internal partners (e.g., specialists in lending, mortgages, commercial banking) to offer holistic solutions.
- Educate clients on financial concepts and product features in a clear and understandable manner.
Required Skills
- Minimum 2 years of experience in financial services or a related client-facing sales role.
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
