Key Responsibilities
- Collect, clean, and validate large datasets from various internal and external sources, ensuring data quality and integrity.
- Develop and maintain robust analytical models, interactive dashboards, and comprehensive reports to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and business performance.
- Perform in-depth statistical analysis, hypothesis testing, and exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and correlations in complex energy data.
- Translate complex analytical findings and data-driven insights into clear, concise, and actionable recommendations for business stakeholders at all levels.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (e.g., engineering, operations, commercial, IT) to understand business challenges, define data needs, and deliver tailored analytical solutions.
- Automate data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes where appropriate to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
- Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security across all analytical activities, adhering to BP's data governance policies.
- Stay abreast of industry best practices, emerging technologies, and new methodologies in data analytics and the energy sector.
- Support ad-hoc data analysis requests and special projects, providing timely and accurate insights to inform critical decisions.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in SQL for advanced data extraction, manipulation, and database querying.
- Strong experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or QlikView to create impactful dashboards and reports.
- Expertise in statistical analysis, data modeling, and experimental design.
