Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Production Supervisor to join our team in New Britain, CT. This critical role involves overseeing daily production operations, ensuring efficiency, safety, and compliance within our facilities. The Production Supervisor will be responsible for leading a team of skilled operators, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and maintaining the highest standards of operational integrity. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of production personnel, ensuring adherence to schedules and operational targets.
- Implement and enforce all Chevron safety policies, procedures, and environmental regulations, promoting a strong safety culture.
- Monitor production processes, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions to optimize efficiency and minimize downtime.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and facilities to ensure proper functioning and compliance with operational standards.
- Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support for operational issues, escalating complex problems to senior management.
- Manage personnel performance, including training, coaching, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions.
- Maintain accurate production records, reports, and logs, ensuring timely and precise data collection.
- Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and quality control teams to ensure seamless operations and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Participate in emergency response planning and drills, ensuring the team is prepared for various scenarios.
- Manage inventory of critical supplies and materials required for production, coordinating with procurement as needed.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of experience in a production or operations environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
- Strong understanding of industrial safety practices and regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in using industrial control systems and production management software.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented and diverse work environment.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field.
- Experience in the oil & gas, chemicals, or heavy manufacturing industries.
- Certifications in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
- Familiarity with preventative maintenance strategies and asset integrity management.
