Job Description
Chevron is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented HR Coordinator to join our team in Downtown Danbury. This critical role serves as the backbone of our Human Resources department, providing comprehensive administrative support and acting as the first point of contact for employee inquiries. As an HR Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of HR functions, contributing directly to a positive employee experience and supporting our strategic objectives.
You will be involved in various aspects of the employee lifecycle, from assisting with onboarding new hires to supporting benefits administration and maintaining accurate employee records. Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to the HR department, including scheduling meetings, preparing presentations, and managing correspondence.
- Assist with the onboarding process for new employees, including preparing offer letters, coordinating background checks, and ensuring a seamless first-day experience.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) and other databases, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
- Support benefits administration, including assisting employees with enrollment, answering general benefits questions, and coordinating with benefit providers.
- Process HR-related documentation, such as performance reviews, leave requests, and employee changes, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Act as a primary point of contact for general employee inquiries, escalating complex issues to appropriate HR specialists.
- Assist in organizing and coordinating HR programs and initiatives, such as training sessions, employee engagement events, and wellness programs.
- Generate HR reports and analytics as requested, providing insights to support HR decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Support special HR projects and initiatives as assigned.
Required Skills
- 2+ years of experience in an HR administrative or coordinator role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong understanding of HR principles, practices, and confidentiality requirements.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Superior organizational and time management abilities, with keen attention to detail.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
- Experience with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience working in a large, complex corporate environment.
- Knowledge of federal and state employment laws (e.g., FMLA, ADA, FLSA).
