Job Description

Chevron is seeking a highly motivated and safety-conscious Production Operator to join our dynamic team in East Norwalk, Norwalk. Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor process equipment, ensuring adherence to established operating procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Conduct regular field inspections, checks, and readings to identify and address any anomalies or potential issues.
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and process deviations, escalating complex issues to supervisors or maintenance as needed.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including equipment lubrication, minor adjustments, and cleaning.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Record and maintain accurate operational data, logs, and reports using digital and manual systems.
  • Participate in safety meetings, training sessions, and emergency response drills.
  • Collaborate effectively with other operators, maintenance personnel, engineers, and supervisors.
  • Prepare equipment for maintenance work, including isolation, lockout/tagout procedures, and permitting.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and safety performance.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Production Operator or similar role in industrial or manufacturing settings.
  • Strong understanding of industrial safety practices and procedures (e.g., LOTO, confined space entry, hot work).
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, process flow diagrams, and operating manuals.
  • Proficiency in monitoring and controlling process equipment, including pumps, valves, compressors, and instrumentation.
  • Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Basic computer literacy for data entry and report generation.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Physical ability to perform demanding tasks, including climbing stairs and ladders, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working in various weather conditions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or technical certification in Process Technology, Industrial Operations, or a related field.
  • Experience with distributed control systems (DCS) or SCADA systems.
  • Familiarity with environmental regulations and reporting.
  • Prior experience in the oil & gas industry or petrochemical operations.
  • First Aid/CPR certification.
