Job Description
Chevron is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Maintenance Engineer to join our dynamic team in the East End, Waterbury. This is an immediate hiring opportunity for an individual passionate about optimizing asset performance, ensuring operational reliability, and upholding the highest safety standards within an industrial environment. As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be instrumental in the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of maintenance activities for a wide range of critical equipment and systems. You will apply your engineering expertise to diagnose complex equipment issues, develop proactive maintenance strategies, and implement innovative solutions that enhance efficiency and extend asset lifespans. This role involves a blend of hands-on problem-solving, analytical thinking, and collaboration with cross-functional teams, including operations, production, and safety personnel. You will be responsible for analyzing equipment performance data, identifying root causes of failures, and implementing corrective and preventive actions. Your contributions will directly impact the seamless operation of our facilities, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and optimize preventive and predictive maintenance programs for critical plant equipment.
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for equipment failures, implementing effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Manage maintenance projects, from scope definition to successful execution and post-implementation review.
- Collaborate with operations, production, and safety teams to ensure seamless integration of maintenance activities.
- Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to track work orders, asset history, and performance metrics.
- Provide technical expertise and support to maintenance technicians and other engineering disciplines.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in maintenance processes, reliability, and cost reduction.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in maintenance, reliability, or plant engineering in an industrial setting (e.g., oil & gas, petrochemical, manufacturing).
- Strong understanding of maintenance best practices, including PDM, PM, and RCA methodologies.
- Proficiency in using CMMS (e.g., SAP PM, Maximo) and data analysis tools.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively in a team environment.
- Knowledge of relevant industry safety standards and environmental regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Engineering or an MBA.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification.
- Experience with process control systems and instrumentation.
- Familiarity with Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Prior experience in the oil and gas or chemical processing industries.
