Key Responsibilities

  • Design, analyze, and optimize electrical systems, equipment, and components for industrial applications, ensuring safety and efficiency.
  • Develop and implement maintenance strategies for electrical infrastructure, including preventative and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Perform root cause analysis for electrical failures and implement effective corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Ensure all electrical work complies with relevant industry codes, standards (e.g., NEC, IEEE), and company policies.
  • Collaborate with project managers, mechanical engineers, and operations teams to integrate electrical systems into larger projects.
  • Specify, evaluate, and procure electrical equipment and materials, managing vendor relationships as needed.
  • Develop and maintain detailed electrical drawings, schematics, and documentation.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to maintenance personnel and other stakeholders.
  • Participate in safety reviews and hazard assessments related to electrical systems.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in electrical engineering practices and technology adoption.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably in an industrial or heavy manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks Electrical).
  • Strong understanding of power systems, motor controls, instrumentation, and control systems (PLCs, DCS).
  • Familiarity with national and international electrical codes and standards.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or actively working towards one.
  • Experience with high-voltage systems and electrical safety programs.
  • Familiarity with hazardous area classifications and equipment selection for such environments.
  • Project management experience or certification.
  • Knowledge of process control systems and industrial automation.
