Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Primary School Teacher to join our dynamic team at SIS Swiss International School, Zurich, for an immediate start. As a Primary School Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering a rich and engaging curriculum primarily in English, while supporting students in their German language development. Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons across all primary school subjects, primarily in English.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and stimulating bilingual learning environment that caters to diverse student needs.
- Assess student progress regularly, provide constructive feedback, and maintain accurate records of achievement.
- Collaborate with teaching assistants and other staff members to support student learning and development.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress, behavior, and school events.
- Participate in school meetings, professional development sessions, and extracurricular activities.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all students in the classroom and during school activities.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the school's curriculum.
- Maintain a well-organized and inspiring classroom space.
Required Skills
- Recognized teaching qualification/license for primary education (e.g., PGCE, M.Ed., Bachelor of Education).
- Minimum 2 years of full-time teaching experience in a primary school setting.
- Native or near-native fluency in English (C2 level).
- Strong understanding of child development and pedagogical best practices.
- Excellent classroom management and organizational skills.
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
- Proficiency in using educational technology.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching in a bilingual or international school environment.
- Proficiency in German (B2 level or higher).
