Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Primary School Teacher to join our dynamic team at SIS Swiss International School, Zurich, for an immediate start. As a Primary School Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering a rich and engaging curriculum primarily in English, while supporting students in their German language development. Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons across all primary school subjects, primarily in English.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and stimulating bilingual learning environment that caters to diverse student needs.
  • Assess student progress regularly, provide constructive feedback, and maintain accurate records of achievement.
  • Collaborate with teaching assistants and other staff members to support student learning and development.
  • Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress, behavior, and school events.
  • Participate in school meetings, professional development sessions, and extracurricular activities.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all students in the classroom and during school activities.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the school's curriculum.
  • Maintain a well-organized and inspiring classroom space.

Required Skills

  • Recognized teaching qualification/license for primary education (e.g., PGCE, M.Ed., Bachelor of Education).
  • Minimum 2 years of full-time teaching experience in a primary school setting.
  • Native or near-native fluency in English (C2 level).
  • Strong understanding of child development and pedagogical best practices.
  • Excellent classroom management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
  • Proficiency in using educational technology.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience teaching in a bilingual or international school environment.
  • Proficiency in German (B2 level or higher).
