Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor process equipment, instrumentation, and control systems from a central control room and in the field to ensure production targets are met safely and efficiently.
  • Conduct regular inspections, perform routine maintenance, and troubleshoot operational issues with pumps, compressors, valves, and other plant machinery.
  • Respond promptly to alarms, abnormal conditions, and emergencies, initiating appropriate corrective actions in accordance with established procedures.
  • Accurately record operational data, log parameters, and maintain detailed shift reports to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate effectively with maintenance, engineering, and other operational teams to optimize plant performance, identify potential improvements, and minimize downtime.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, environmental policies, and operational procedures, actively participating in safety meetings and hazard assessments.
  • Assist in the startup, shutdown, and commissioning of new equipment and systems, ensuring all processes are followed meticulously for safe integration.

Required Skills

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a Production Operator, Process Technician, or similar role in a petrochemical, refining, or manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated understanding of process control systems (DCS, SCADA) and field instrumentation.
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, and operational manuals.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, with a commitment to safety.
  • Physical ability to perform duties including lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing ladders, and working in various weather conditions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Process Technology, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
  • Experience with SAP or other enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems for maintenance and operations tracking.
  • Proficiency in confined space entry and hot work permit procedures.
