Job Description

Are you a highly organized, proactive, and results-driven logistics professional ready to make an immediate impact within a leading FMCG company? East African Bottling Share Company (EABSC) is actively seeking a dedicated and experienced Logistics Officer to join our dynamic supply chain team in Addis Ababa. This critical role is absolutely essential to ensuring the seamless and efficient flow of our renowned products – from raw material procurement and production facilities to our extensive network of distribution centers and ultimately, to our valued customers across every corner of Ethiopia. As a Logistics Officer, you will be entrusted with coordinating and monitoring all intricate aspects of our logistical operations, encompassing robust inventory management, optimized warehousing strategies, and meticulous planning of transportation and delivery schedules. You will play a pivotal role in continually optimizing our supply chain efficiency, proactively identifying opportunities to reduce operational costs, and consistently maintaining the high standards of product availability and quality that our customers have come to expect from our brands. Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate daily logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, and inventory management.
  • Monitor and track shipments from origin to destination, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of products.
  • Manage inventory levels, conducting regular stock checks and reconciling discrepancies to maintain accurate records.
  • Optimize routes and transportation methods to improve efficiency and reduce delivery costs.
  • Liaise with internal departments (e.g., production, sales) and external stakeholders (e.g., transporters, suppliers) to ensure smooth operations.
  • Prepare and process necessary documentation, including shipping manifests, invoices, and customs clearances.
  • Identify and resolve logistics-related issues and discrepancies promptly.
  • Implement and enforce safety and quality standards throughout the logistics process.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of logistics strategies to enhance supply chain performance.
  • Generate reports on logistics performance, costs, and efficiency for management review.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in logistics, warehousing, or supply chain operations.
  • Proficiency in logistics software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems (e.g., SAP).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Fluent in Amharic and English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) or beverage industry.
  • Certification in Logistics or Supply Chain Management (e.g., CILT, APICS).
  • Knowledge of Ethiopian customs regulations and import/export procedures.
  • Proven track record of optimizing logistics processes and achieving cost savings.
