Job Description

We are urgently seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Siemens Automation Technician to join our dynamic team in Eagleridge, Pueblo. This critical role involves the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of complex automation systems, primarily utilizing Siemens control platforms. Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, test, and commission Siemens-based automation systems, including PLCs (e.g., S7-300, S7-400, S7-1200, S7-1500), HMIs (e.g., WinCC, TIA Portal), and variable frequency drives.
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on automated machinery and control systems to ensure optimal performance and extend equipment lifespan.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot complex electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and software-related issues within automation systems.
  • Execute repairs, replace faulty components, and calibrate instruments to restore system functionality efficiently.
  • Develop and modify PLC programs and HMI interfaces as required for system improvements, upgrades, or new functionalities.
  • Provide technical support and training to operational staff on the proper use and basic troubleshooting of automation equipment.
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and system modifications.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, industry standards, and company policies.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams, project managers, and clients to ensure project success and client satisfaction.
  • Participate in on-call rotations or respond to urgent service requests as needed.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency with Siemens TIA Portal, Step 7, and WinCC software.
  • Strong understanding of industrial control systems, including PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and servo drives.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, P&ID diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • Experience with industrial networking protocols (e.g., Profinet, Profibus, Ethernet/IP).
  • Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills for complex automation issues.
  • Solid understanding of electrical safety procedures and lockout/tagout (LOTO) protocols.
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience as an Automation Technician, preferably with Siemens systems.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or technical certification in Industrial Automation, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience with other control platforms (e.g., Rockwell/Allen-Bradley) is a plus.
  • Certifications in specific Siemens automation products or platforms.
  • Familiarity with robotic systems and integration.
  • Experience in a manufacturing, food & beverage, or material handling environment.
