Key Responsibilities

  • Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently, including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and cashing checks.
  • Maintain a balanced cash drawer and reconcile discrepancies daily.
  • Identify customer needs and cross-sell appropriate bank products and services (e.g., credit cards, loans, savings accounts).
  • Educate customers on various banking services, online banking platforms, and mobile applications.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships through proactive engagement and exceptional service delivery.
  • Adhere strictly to all bank policies, procedures, and regulatory compliance guidelines, including KYC and anti-money laundering regulations.
  • Assist customers with inquiries, resolve issues promptly, and refer complex matters to appropriate specialists.
  • Actively participate in branch initiatives, team meetings, and ongoing training programs.
  • Protect customer privacy and maintain confidentiality of all transactions and personal information.
  • Perform opening and closing procedures for the branch, as required.

Required Skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a customer service or cash handling role.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial transactions.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite) and ability to learn new banking software quickly.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a diverse team.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to customer resolution.
  • Aptitude for mathematics, reconciliation, and understanding financial concepts.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • Previous experience as a Teller or in a financial institution.
  • Bilingual proficiency (e.g., Spanish) is a significant plus.
  • Familiarity with banking regulations, compliance standards, and financial products.
  • Proven ability to identify and refer sales opportunities based on customer needs.
