Key Responsibilities
- Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently, including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and cashing checks.
- Maintain a balanced cash drawer and reconcile discrepancies daily.
- Identify customer needs and cross-sell appropriate bank products and services (e.g., credit cards, loans, savings accounts).
- Educate customers on various banking services, online banking platforms, and mobile applications.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships through proactive engagement and exceptional service delivery.
- Adhere strictly to all bank policies, procedures, and regulatory compliance guidelines, including KYC and anti-money laundering regulations.
- Assist customers with inquiries, resolve issues promptly, and refer complex matters to appropriate specialists.
- Actively participate in branch initiatives, team meetings, and ongoing training programs.
- Protect customer privacy and maintain confidentiality of all transactions and personal information.
- Perform opening and closing procedures for the branch, as required.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a customer service or cash handling role.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial transactions.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite) and ability to learn new banking software quickly.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a diverse team.
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to customer resolution.
- Aptitude for mathematics, reconciliation, and understanding financial concepts.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Previous experience as a Teller or in a financial institution.
- Bilingual proficiency (e.g., Spanish) is a significant plus.
- Familiarity with banking regulations, compliance standards, and financial products.
- Proven ability to identify and refer sales opportunities based on customer needs.
