Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments, including operational, credit, market, and compliance risks.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain risk models and methodologies to quantify potential exposures.
  • Analyze large datasets to identify trends, anomalies, and potential risk indicators.
  • Prepare detailed risk reports and presentations for senior management and relevant stakeholders.
  • Monitor adherence to internal risk policies, procedures, and external regulatory requirements (e.g., Basel, Dodd-Frank).
  • Collaborate with various business units to understand their operations and integrate risk management practices effectively.
  • Assist in the development and execution of stress testing scenarios and capital adequacy assessments.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects aimed at enhancing the firm's overall risk infrastructure.
  • Stay abreast of industry best practices, emerging risks, and regulatory changes within the financial sector.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Business Administration, or a related quantitative field.
  • 3+ years of experience in risk management, financial analysis, or a related analytical role, preferably within financial services.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex risk concepts clearly.
  • Understanding of financial products, markets, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or professional certifications such as FRM, CFA, or PRM.
  • Experience with risk management software and tools (e.g., SQL, Python, R, SAS for data analysis).
  • Knowledge of GRC (Governance, Risk, and Compliance) platforms.
  • Experience with regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Previous experience with a large financial institution.
