In this pivotal role, you will be the primary point of contact for clients seeking various types of loans, including personal, small business, and potentially mortgage products. As a Loan Officer, you will be responsible for developing new client relationships, maintaining an existing portfolio, and actively identifying lending opportunities that align with our clients’ needs and our bank’s strategic objectives. Key Responsibilities
- Originate and process a variety of loan applications, including personal, small business, and potentially mortgage loans, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Actively engage with clients to understand their financial needs, provide expert advice, and recommend suitable lending solutions.
- Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of prospective clients through networking, referrals, and community involvement.
- Conduct comprehensive financial analyses, credit assessments, and risk evaluations in accordance with Bank of America's lending guidelines.
- Educate clients on loan products, terms, and conditions, ensuring clear understanding and transparency throughout the lending process.
- Collaborate effectively with underwriters, processors, and other internal departments to expedite loan approvals and closings.
- Ensure strict compliance with all federal, state, and local lending regulations, as well as internal bank policies and procedures.
- Build and nurture long-term client relationships by providing exceptional service and identifying opportunities for additional banking products and services.
- Stay informed about market trends, competitor offerings, and changes in lending regulations.
- Achieve assigned sales goals and performance metrics while maintaining high standards of quality and customer satisfaction.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in lending, financial sales, or a related role within the banking industry.
- Demonstrated ability to originate and close various loan products.
- Strong understanding of financial analysis, credit principles, and risk assessment.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Commitment to ethical practices and regulatory compliance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
- Active NMLS registration (or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe) for mortgage-related roles.
- Established network within the Southridge/Fontana community.
- Fluency in Spanish or other languages relevant to the local community.
- Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) systems.
