Key Responsibilities
- Participate in assurance engagements, including financial statement audits, for clients across various industries.
- Assist in planning and executing audit procedures under the guidance of senior team members.
- Prepare audit documentation, including workpapers, memos, and client communications, in accordance with firm and regulatory standards.
- Perform substantive testing and tests of controls to evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and the accuracy of financial reporting.
- Identify and communicate potential audit issues or findings to senior associates and managers.
- Collaborate effectively with client personnel to gather necessary information and clarify accounting treatments.
- Utilize EY's audit technologies and tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of audit procedures.
- Stay current with accounting and auditing pronouncements, as well as industry-specific regulations.
- Contribute to a positive team environment through collaboration, knowledge sharing, and professional conduct.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or actively pursuing and expected to graduate within 12 months).
- Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP) and auditing standards.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and manage multiple tasks.
- Demonstrated leadership potential and a strong work ethic.
- Eligibility to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
- Eligibility to sit for the CPA exam (e.g., 150 credit hours completed or in progress).
- Prior internship experience in accounting, finance, or a related professional services field.
