Key Responsibilities
- Assist in planning and executing financial statement audits under the supervision of senior team members.
- Perform substantive testing and analytical procedures on client financial data.
- Evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting.
- Prepare clear and concise audit documentation in accordance with KPMG's audit methodology and professional standards.
- Identify and communicate potential audit issues and findings to senior associates and managers.
- Engage with client personnel to gather necessary information and clarify audit queries.
- Utilize KPMG's audit technology and tools to enhance audit efficiency and effectiveness.
- Participate in team meetings and client discussions, contributing to a collaborative environment.
- Continuously develop technical accounting and auditing knowledge through formal training and on-the-job experience.
- Adhere to professional ethics and KPMG's independence policies.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or actively pursuing, with completion prior to start date)
- Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP)
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
- High degree of integrity and professional skepticism
- Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future
Preferred Qualifications
- Pursuing CPA licensure or having met the 150-hour requirement for CPA examination
- Prior internship experience in accounting or finance
- Experience with data analytics tools or audit software
- Demonstrated leadership abilities through extracurricular activities or work experience
