Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and curate library collections, including selection, acquisition, cataloging, and shelving of materials across various formats.
  • Provide expert reference and research assistance to patrons, guiding them to relevant resources and developing their information literacy skills.
  • Design and deliver engaging library programs, workshops, and outreach activities for diverse age groups and community segments.
  • Promote the use of digital resources, online databases, and emerging library technologies to enhance user experience.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to develop innovative library services and initiatives.
  • Maintain an updated knowledge of library trends, best practices, and technological advancements in information science.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Library and Information Science or a related field
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in a library or information center environment
  • Proficiency in library management systems and database searching
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-centric approach
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities
  • Proficiency in English; ability to communicate in other official languages (Malay, Mandarin, Tamil) is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Library and Information Science (MLIS/MLS)
  • Experience with digital archiving, preservation, or metadata management
  • Demonstrated ability in program development and event coordination
