Key Responsibilities
- Accurately receive, unpack, and organize incoming merchandise shipments, verifying quantities against purchase orders and identifying any discrepancies.
- Perform regular cycle counts and conduct comprehensive physical inventories to ensure the highest level of accuracy in stock levels across all departments.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies promptly, escalating complex issues to management as needed for resolution.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe backroom and sales floor storage areas, strictly adhering to all company standards and safety protocols.
- Operate manual and powered equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, balers, compactors) safely and efficiently, following proper training and certification.
- Assist with product placement, replenishment, and merchandising tasks on the sales floor to ensure attractive and well-stocked displays.
- Process damaged, defective, or returned merchandise according to established company procedures and guidelines.
- Collaborate effectively with sales floor team members and other departments to facilitate smooth product flow and optimize guest satisfaction.
- Utilize inventory management systems and handheld scanning devices to accurately track stock movements, process transfers, and update data.
- Contribute actively to a positive and productive team environment, offering support and assistance to colleagues when necessary.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines, promoting a culture of compliance and operational excellence.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent education.
- Demonstrated ability to read, understand, and accurately apply written and verbal instructions.
- Basic computer proficiency and comfort using handheld scanning devices and other retail technology.
- Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to lift and move merchandise weighing up to 40 pounds regularly and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb, and reach for extended periods during shifts.
- Effective verbal and written communication and strong interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively as part of a team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential for this role.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (6+ months) in a retail inventory, stock, warehouse, or logistics role.
- Familiarity with inventory management software, point-of-sale (POS) systems, or similar retail technology.
- Experience operating material handling equipment such as pallet jacks or stock pickers (certification a plus).
