Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a company vehicle to deliver packages to guests within the Dobson Ranch, Mesa area and surrounding communities, strictly adhering to all traffic laws and company safety protocols.
- Efficiently load, unload, and organize packages to ensure security and prevent damage during transit.
- Verify order accuracy against delivery manifests and obtain necessary confirmations or signatures from guests upon delivery.
- Provide friendly, professional, and efficient service during every guest interaction, embodying Target’s commitment to guest satisfaction.
- Plan and optimize delivery routes using company-provided tools and GPS devices for maximum efficiency and timeliness.
- Communicate any delivery issues, delays, or challenges to supervisors promptly and proactively.
- Perform mandatory pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any maintenance needs or concerns immediately.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the delivery vehicle at all times.
- Be able to lift, push, pull, and carry packages weighing up to 50 pounds regularly and safely.
- Represent Target's brand positively during all interactions within the community and with guests.
- Adhere to strict delivery schedules and timelines to ensure timely fulfillment of guest orders.
Required Skills
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 1 year (12 months) of professional driving experience.
- Ability to consistently lift and carry packages weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Excellent navigation skills and proficiency with GPS devices or mapping applications.
- Strong time management and organizational abilities to handle multiple deliveries.
- Exceptional customer service and clear communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and also as part of a team.
- High school diploma or equivalent education.
- Must be 18 years or older.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a delivery driver in a retail or logistics setting.
- Familiarity with the Dobson Ranch, Mesa, and greater Phoenix metropolitan area.
- Experience using handheld devices for delivery tracking and signature capture.
