Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance on a variety of material handling equipment, including conveyors, sortation systems, forklifts, and other powered industrial vehicles.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems issues.
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, minimizing downtime and ensuring operational efficiency.
  • Conduct regular inspections of facility infrastructure and equipment to identify potential issues before they escalate.
  • Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and equipment manuals to facilitate accurate repairs and installations.
  • Utilize computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to document work orders, maintenance logs, and inventory parts.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and regulations, promoting a safe working environment for all team members.
  • Collaborate with operations personnel and other technicians to optimize equipment performance and workflow.
  • Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in a logistics or manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical components, including bearings, gearboxes, chains, and belts.
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting skills, including familiarity with 480V, 277V, 208V, and 120V systems.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and ladder logic diagrams.
  • Experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems, including cylinders, valves, and pumps.
  • Basic welding and fabrication skills.
  • Proficient in using hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Strong commitment to safety protocols and practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or technical certification in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and HMI interfaces.
  • Familiarity with variable frequency drives (VFDs) and motor controls.
  • Prior experience maintaining conveyor systems and automated sortation equipment.
  • Certification in Lockout/Tagout procedures.
  • Ability to operate forklifts and other powered industrial equipment (PIT) safely.
