Key Responsibilities
- Operate various types of forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) safely and efficiently to move, load, unload, stack, and retrieve materials and packages.
- Perform daily pre-operation inspections on equipment and complete necessary documentation to ensure machinery is in safe working condition.
- Accurately pick and stage freight for outbound shipments, ensuring proper labeling and documentation.
- Receive and store inbound materials, verifying counts and inspecting for damage.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment within the warehouse.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies, procedures, and OSHA regulations.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff and supervisors to optimize workflow and achieve operational goals.
- Assist with inventory management tasks, including cycle counts and reconciliation, as needed.
- Report any equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or incidents immediately to a supervisor.
- Contribute to a positive team environment through effective communication and cooperation.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator in a warehouse or logistics environment.
- Valid forklift certification and demonstrated ability to operate various types of forklifts.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and practices.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry packages weighing up to 50 lbs independently, and maneuver heavier items with assistance or equipment.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Basic computer literacy for scanning and data entry.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to work in varying environmental conditions (e.g., heat, cold, dust, noise).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with FedEx or another major logistics company.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Experience with electric pallet jacks and other material handling equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability in a fast-paced setting.
