As a UPS Security Guard in Mesa, Arizona, you will play a critical role in upholding the safety, security, and integrity of our operations. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of UPS facility premises, both internal and external, to prevent and detect signs of intrusion, security breaches, or other suspicious activities.
- Monitor surveillance cameras and alarm systems, responding promptly to any alerts or unusual observations.
- Control access to the facility, verifying identities of employees, visitors, and vendors, and issuing badges as per security protocols.
- Inspect incoming and outgoing vehicles, including package cars and trailers, for unauthorized items, contraband, or security risks.
- Enforce company security policies and procedures consistently and fairly.
- Respond to alarms, emergencies (e.g., medical, fire, safety), and security incidents according to established protocols, providing immediate assistance and coordinating with emergency services.
- Prepare detailed and accurate reports on observations, incidents, and activities, ensuring all relevant information is documented.
- Maintain a visible presence to deter unlawful acts and ensure a safe and secure environment for all personnel and assets.
- Collaborate with management and law enforcement agencies during investigations or emergency situations.
- Provide excellent customer service to employees and visitors while maintaining security vigilance.
- Operate security equipment, including radios, metal detectors, and other access control tools.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 1 year of experience in security, law enforcement, or military
- Valid state security license (if applicable by state law)
- Excellent observational and analytical skills
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities
- Ability to operate security equipment and surveillance systems
- Proficiency in basic computer applications for report writing
