Key Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections, repairs, and alterations on Delta Air Lines aircraft, including engines, airframes, avionics, and related components.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using specialized equipment, diagnostic tools, and technical manuals.
  • Execute repairs and component replacements in strict accordance with FAA regulations, manufacturer specifications, and company procedures.
  • Conduct thorough pre-flight, post-flight, and transit checks to ensure aircraft airworthiness and operational readiness for departure.
  • Document all maintenance actions, repairs, and inspections accurately and completely in compliance with regulatory and company standards, utilizing digital systems.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety policies, procedures, and environmental regulations, fostering a culture of safety.
  • Collaborate effectively with flight crews, ground personnel, and other maintenance teams to ensure efficient and safe ground and flight operations.
  • Participate actively in continuous training and professional development programs to stay current with evolving aircraft technology and maintenance practices.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, promoting efficiency and preventing hazards.
  • Operate ground support equipment safely and proficiently as required for aircraft servicing.

Required Skills

  • Valid FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Mechanic Certificate is mandatory.
  • Minimum of 24 months of hands-on experience in aircraft maintenance, preferably on commercial transport aircraft.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret complex aircraft maintenance manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems under various conditions.
  • Proficiency in using a wide range of hand tools, power tools, and specialized aircraft maintenance equipment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective team collaboration and documentation.
  • Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a cohesive team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Physical ability to perform duties, including lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing ladders, bending, stooping, and working in confined spaces and varying weather conditions.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or higher in Aviation Maintenance Technology or a related technical field.
  • Experience with specific aircraft types commonly found in the Delta fleet (e.g., Airbus A320/A330, Boeing 737/757/767).
  • Prior experience working in a line maintenance or heavy maintenance airline environment.
  • Familiarity with Delta Air Lines' specific maintenance procedures, systems, and operational protocols.
  • Strong computer literacy for accessing technical documentation, utilizing maintenance software, and completing digital maintenance records.
